Could you ever forgive me? Could you ever cast my past into The sea of forgetfullness Where riptides pull away my sins of the flesh Deep undercurrents destroy and suffocate all the evil I have done High waves crash my sins upon the rock of God where they are shattered into a million little jagged pieces This sea Stretches forever into the distance As far as East is from West I feel my faults could fill this ocean I see the beautiful, blue water Tainted As that which I cast off of me Is cast into the ocean At the bottom of the sea Lies a graveyard of broken chains Many of them the same Many of them broken many times Only to be picked up again Then cast back into the sea My soul stinks of salt water My lips are parched and cracked I know you are tired of the ocean You are weary from the trip to the sea How many times must I cast these things away You ask Must I beat a path to the ocean for as long as I live? We met And I brought the sea
